Weekend Reads #70: The Best of 2016.

Saturday, December 31, 2016

Another round of Weekend Reads! Only this time, instead of bombing you with new stuff you'll be too busy to read (hey, no judging! It's New Year's after all), I decided to remind you of the best things you could have read on Wandering Polka Dot so far on weekends. So without further ado, let's roll!

New Year's Goals You Could Add To Your List

Thursday, December 29, 2016

Apparently, I'm not a woman of a plan. What a hideous way to start off a post that talks about New Year's goals. No, wait, don't go!

I mean, I was; I made a detailed schedule for the blog and felt committed to it—only to fall ill just in time to not finish those posts that needed to be finished, let alone follow the schedule. Heck, I didn't even open my laptop. I felt I should say goodbye to everything and everyone, as the previous couple of nights were pretty heavy on me. (I hate getting sick. I never do. And then I do and then I freak out.)

Anyway, here's something I think you would find useful. If you're a New Year's resolutions freak like I am, but you're not sure what goals you could set for yourself, check this out. Nothing is too demanding, yet it might help you in your everyday life, or just make you feel like you own it. Or make you actually own it. 😉

Weekend Reads #69

Friday, December 23, 2016

I wrote an introduction to this post yesterday, stating This time I'm actually NOT posting from the train, even though I'm leaving my apartment in mere minutes to catch one. False. I am typing this out on a train. Trying out discipline and finishing the post on a Thursday. This is true though—but I obviously need to try more, and, like, wake up on time. I have so much to do by the end of the year—you might remember this list—and of course I do, you probably do too. I constantly keep on pushing myself and making myself do more and more, and it's been years of trying to get to the point where I've done it all. It's just that along the way I keep adding more and more tasks. By the way, I'm in no way trying to brag about this—I actually hate that it's so. And on top of everything, I lack self-discipline. Do you think it's a personality trait or not? I wish I could train myself, but just end up thinking oh no it's just the way I am. I'd love to hear your thoughts! This is all true. Woe is me!
Anyway, here are some interesting links for this week.
Oh, and have a very merry Christmas if you're celebrating! I wish you a blessed holiday with your family and friends.

Weekend Reads #68

Sunday, December 18, 2016

Hi there, and if by any chance you stopped by WPD two days ago in search for your weekly dose of information and inspiration, sorry! Remember that list of things I wanted to do by the end of the year? When you add it to an endless stream of job applications, things can get complicated. So here they are, a tad later than they were supposed to be. A lot of videos today!

Weekend Reads #67

Friday, December 9, 2016

Hello from the train. The pattern, eh? I got up at 6 AM today so basically I now might go to sleep and wake up tomorrow. If you feel the same though, I urge you to check Weekend Reads first though. So without further ado, here they are. Hope you have a good weekend. 😊

Weekend Reads #66

Friday, December 2, 2016

You may guess where I am at the moment. OK, if you said "on a train", you were right. Fridays, huh? For me, it's another check-up at the orthodontist—as if it were not enough to see her every other week, it's every week now because I need to get it done before I move. Hah! Yes I'm moving countries soon again, but don't feel like sharing the whole story yet because it's BIG. So big it scares me sometimes. Anyway... I was telling. Friday. Weekend Reads. I hope you have a nice one, friends. Enjoy!

Things You Need To Do By The End Of The Year

Thursday, December 1, 2016

Last year I wrote an article on things one should do in order to end the year on the right foot. While I still stand by the things I said (check them out!), I decided to be more specific this year. Here’s my list, hopefully it will inspire you to do some of those things by the end of the year yourself, or give you some ideas!

Weekend Reads #65

Friday, November 25, 2016

Hi there! I got home an hour ago and had no idea what to do the first: eat? Have coffee? Publish Weekend Reads? (Should have happened earlier today, internet issues!) Sleep? Organize the mess? Believe it or not, I wanted it all at the same time! Who else has an endless to-do list on a Friday?
Well, here are the links I know hope you will enjoy. Have a great weekend!
P.S. I ate. And made coffee. And here I am now, obviously not sleeping.

Going on a European Road Trip? 8 Things You Need to Know

Thursday, November 24, 2016

Looking to take a lovely road trip through Europe in the near future? While you’re certainly embarking on an exciting and worthwhile adventure, making sure you’re prepared for the excursion is just as important as it would be for any other type of holiday.

Here are eight things you’ll need to know prior to shooting off on a European road trip.

Weekend Reads #64

Friday, November 18, 2016

Hello again from a train! This really becomes some sort of a tradition. I'm traveling to have my teeth and braces checked and to see my sister who has got a dog. I get to be a human aunt to this miraculous little creature. Learning from my mistakes, I am  now dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt. Little fella loves to practice his little teeth! What are your plans for the weekend? I hope you find some time to enjoy these links I've prepared for you!

Weekend Reads #63

Saturday, November 12, 2016

Hello there! I'm writing this while sipping an instant tomato soup—while nothing beats my Mom's homemade one, this is rather good, and, well, tells you a lot about my kitchen skills. But have you seen the last post here, on food in Rome?! It's the first guest post that has ever appeared here on Wandering Polka Dot and my two cents are that it's great. I wish I lived in Italy—a friend of mine did for a semester and started complaining about the food after not that much time, but I don't think I would ever have a problem with eating pasta every day. OK, my mirror could... Anyhow, make sure to check yesterday's post and tell us what your favorite Italian dish is, if you'd like. And here are some other links from around the web.

A Foodie Guide To Rome

Thursday, November 10, 2016

via

Remember how two years ago I couldn't keep my mouth shut when it comes to the beauty of the Eternal City? Not only Rome is beyond beautiful, but it's also super delicious. I have been restraining myself from ordering pasta all'amatriciana for two years, because I am afraid I will end up disappointed. I am saving that delicious meal for another time I find myself at the Santa Maria di Trastevere square. Today's post is by the lovely Zorica from EuroTribe, a travel blog with focus on European destinations and all things European worldwide, as she puts it. Zorica and I are obviously in love with food in Rome, and to say her post made me hungry would be underestimation. So, here goes!

Weekend Reads #62

Friday, November 4, 2016

Hey there! I am finishing up this post on a train, traveling to a city an hour away to have my regular orthodontist check-up. These braces are hopefully coming off soon! It's a beautiful bright November day and the forecast says the weekend is going to be the same (warm, even!) so I hope to squeeze in some outdoor activities. Though this person's idea of 'activities' is a walk. ;) What are your plans for the weekend? I hope you enjoy! And here are some links to make it more enjoyable, if possible.

Weekend Reads #61

Saturday, October 15, 2016

Hello there! I know I've been silent over here and, well, you know my usual response for that: life was happening. It really was, and I hope to gather some strength and time (time, time, time!!!) to finally be a devoted blogger. Or at least pretend to be one. I hope you can accept my apology that would be more weekend reads than what I usually offer. But hey, don't blame me if you end up glued to your screen for the weekend! Yes, they're that good. ;) What are your plans for the weekend? I hope you have a good one!

Weekend Reads #60

Friday, August 12, 2016

Hello there, I hope you're well!  I came back from Odessa this week, and the journalism workshop I attended was so good! More on Odessa to come. I was really charmed by the city. Once again it was proven: the less expectations you have, the more likely you are to like something. In the meantime, before I prepare a thorough post on Odessa (and Azerbaijan, I know, I know!), you can check out my Instagram for a glimpse of the city. The photo above is of the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre. With a dash of blue Lada :) Enjoy the links I prepared for you, and of course, enjoy the weekend!

Weekend Reads #59

Saturday, July 30, 2016

Hey guys, I hope you're having a good weekend! I also want to ask you something. Today is basically second-to-last day of my fundraising for my upcoming travel to the USA, to attend the Merit360 program. I'm so far away from my fundraising goal that I honestly have no idea if I'll actually travel or not. And I want need to so much! It's a great program and I really expect to do something great as a journalist/blogger there, covering the program, especially the Gender Equality team! So, if you ever laughed at my Weekend Reads links, if you found them interesting, thought provoking, if you ever looked at my travel photos and stories and felt inspired to book your next trip, please consider donating. I assure you no amount is too small. Here's my fundraising page, and here's the blog post explaining the whole thing. Thank you!

Six Months Later—Where I Am With My New Year's Resolutions

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Hello there! While everyone else does their designated check-ins and weekly and monthly reviews and what not either on the last day of the week/month or the day after, well, it seems running late can be my charming feature. Not that charming? Oh, okay. I thought…

Well, July 1st or 27th, I guess the story is the same. Did I enjoy the second quarter of the year? I hated it. I hated it so much and I still hate the thought of it. Six months ago I wrote here this “might be the greatest year of my life if I make it so”. Well, that was optimistic. Six months later my life is falling apart and I’m this little fella. But hey, if I’m able to crack a joke or two or write about it and not sobbing at the thought of EVERYTHING… I guess I’m fine. (Though I am sobbing quite often. Yeah, I was always that girl.)

Weekend Reads #58

Sunday, July 24, 2016

Hi there! If anyone noticed I hadn't posted WeekendReads last week, that's because I was in Azerbaijan, obviously, and even though I had brought my laptop along, I rarely had the time to look at it, if we count out the time spent getting ready in the evenings when we would play a song or two on YouTube—but not more, because, well, lack of time. The schedule was so busy it reminded me of similar programs I attended in high school, which is, truth be told, ages ago. I was constantly tired and felt like an old grandma for going to bed at 2 AM every night, when people were basically starting to have fun. Well, the people were also younger than me and if it's not scientifically proven you can stay up longer without any consequences when you're young, it should be. Aaanyway, post(s?) on Azerbaijan coming some time soon, and in the meantime, here's what you can do today.

Weekend Reads #57

Friday, July 8, 2016

Hello hello, and happy Friday! Counting down until the weekend? Having any exciting plans in store? I'm traveling tomorrow—I'm flying to Azerbaijan! I know it sounds super random, but actually it's something I've been waiting for quite some time. Here's the post explaining in detail why I'm going, if you'd like to know. If you have some recommendations in Baku, please do let me know! You can comment here or tweet me @wanderpolkadot. And now, let's dive deep in the links I prepared for you.

Weekend Reads #56

Friday, July 1, 2016

Hello there! It's really hard to write a meaningful intro in this heat, plus I've been so tired lately and I have no idea why. Could be the weather. I wake up tired and I drag myself through the day because, well, it's not like I have options. So, without further ado, here are the links I found interesting last week and hope you will too.

Weekend Reads #55

Saturday, June 25, 2016

Hello hello, how is everyone? How are you surviving the heat, provided you're experiencing something similar to what we have here in Belgrade? I think people who live in Belgrade and claim they love summer are just plain dumb—that is, unless they spend all of it somewhere else. The city is pure concrete and it's incredibly hot. A week or two ago I had problems breathing for the first time in my life. My AC is working most of the time (hello, electricity bill!) and my blinds are shut. I wake up covered in sweat and the first thing I do when I enter the flat is taking off all of the clothes. Even shower doesn't help. I cannot remember when exactly we became a tropical island... oh, but we didn't, because at least there you can jump into the sea. Well, enough with the despair: as always, here are some links for your entertainment.

Weekend Reads #54

Saturday, June 18, 2016

In latest news from the Fairytale Land... I lost my phone. I lost my beautiful golden liked-by-everyone phone that I only had for less than a year (and that's SO LITTLE because I use my phones until they are dead and done). I lost my phone that had a broken screen, and why did it have a broken screen, because I didn't have the funds to repair it. Well, here's the silver lining: I don't need to repair it anymore. I am at the moment using my dad's old phone and it sucks and using it literally HURTS, because it has a keyboard with REAL KEYS and my fingertips haven't been using keys on a phone since 2009.
Rant over. On a similar note though, do you happen to need a writer, a translator, an editor, anyone who does anything with words? Well, you're looking at the right person's blog! Hit the "Contact" tab, feed the piggy bank and sponsor my next electricity bill.

Weekend Reads #53

Sunday, June 5, 2016

I know. I'm guilty. I let myself be one of those people whose domains expire. But on the other hand, why is it taking DAYS for money to land on my PayPal account? Anyway, we're back. If you had happened to visit in the past few days, you could have been greeted by a page telling you the domain for Wandering Polka Dot had expired. Argh! I now know I will make a dozen reminders for the next year...
Anyway, here are some links I stumbled upon recently I thought you might enjoy.

Advice To My Teenage Self

Thursday, June 2, 2016

If only they made a travel machine already! I have some advice for a version of myself that wore glasses and had a bunch of spots on the forehead. Since I did it all wrong, I can only try my best and swim in this muddy puddle they call life. If she had only done things differently... well, here it is, just in case they do invent a time machine and we find a way to access a blog in 2006. that doesn't yet exist.

How To Save Money While Traveling: Case Study—Italy

Wednesday, May 25, 2016

It sucks running what used to be a travel blog when you're not traveling. I told you guys a few months ago the blog would take a slight turn towards some other topics as well, but I bumped into life and unfortunately wasn't able to update it as much as I would. But I was doing some cleaning the other day and found an almost two-year-old post-it with the cost breakdown of my Italy travels. I didn't want to toss it, but to write a blog post that might be useful to someone. Almost two years ago I wrote one of my most popular posts ever—How To Travel On A Budget—but I get it's one thing to offer general advice, but it's totally another to actually show someone how you really did it on a trip. So, here goes!

Weekend Reads #52

Sunday, May 22, 2016

Hello there, and I hope you're well and healthy! I spent three days in bed and it was a great reminder to take better care of myself. Which I usually do, but my newly established schedule was all like "hello and here's a greeting from hell, let's see if you can keep up with me". Well, obviously I have to try harder. So, here's a quick go-to list for both you and me: 1. go to the gym (or do any other form of exercise), 2. drink plenty of water, 3. eat home-cooked meals, yes, Tihana, I'm talking to you, 4. have enough sleep, 5. don't hate your circumstances even when you think you couldn't possibly feel anything else. Bonus tip: spend time outside. I never manage to. I hope I will. Anyway, here are some links for you to check out...

Weekend Reads #51

Saturday, May 14, 2016

First (kind of) work week done. Me: super tired but super proud of myself. I think "enchanted" was the word my boss for the time being used on Day 1 (OK haha it's not that I think so, she did literally say she was enchanted with me). But apart from that I've been spending my free time working at home (yes, feel free to pity me); it's a copyediting gig that's taking my eyes and soul. I haven't had a proper social outing in what seems to be years, though it's only been weeks. ONLY?! Am I listening to myself? There are literally dozens of people in this city I want to see, but I don't have time. I've written pieces on time management, I've read even more, but here I am, feeling like this dog. I don't even know how I managed to write this post. It's only six of the links this time—SORRY—but still: where did I get them? When? How? I don't remember. Must have been taking a five-minute break from work. Anyway, enjoy!

Weekend Reads #50

Saturday, May 7, 2016

You might remember that last week I told you I was traveling to my parents' for the weekend. Actually it was a week, and it can be described in a few words. Manual labor and lots of food. I went to bed yesterday evening with a feeling my belly was stuffed with pounds and pounds of solid rock. But here I am back in Belgrade and getting ready to hit the gym. OK, tomorrow. I'm still chilling today. Kind of like food jet lag. Anyway, here are some cool links from around the web! Enjoy the weekend!

Weekend Reads #49

Friday, April 29, 2016

Hello there and hope you're well and ready to rock the weekend! I'm traveling to my parents' tomorrow as we celebrate Easter this Sunday. My new Belgrade life is perhaps starting to come together: the flat feels more like a home, I'm seeing people, I went out once, I'm being regular at the gym... I also found somewhat of a job, but I'm being vague here because it is vague and I don't want to jinx it. OK, it's not a job, it's an internship. But the one I cannot wait to start! Aaanyway, here are the links for this weekend, and if you're in Serbia, enjoy the long one! Happy holidays!

Three Months Later—Where I Am With My NY Resolutions

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

Time for a quarterly check-in! OK, well, the time was some weeks ago, but it's kind of difficult to think about blogging once you're homeless. ;) This post has been written in several goes, on a plane, on a bus, and in two or three homes. But here it is now! Again, I think it’d be stupid to go on and about the speed of light, and by speed of light I mean ‘wasn’t New Year’s Eve just the other week?!’, so I’ll cut straight to my goals for 2k16 and how I did in this regard. I welcome and encourage you to share your own resolutions and thoughts on how you did in the first three months of the year.

Weekend Reads #48

Sunday, April 17, 2016

Hello from my new apartment! Of course, it's a rental, and it's roughly the size of a shoebox, but it's mine. Roughly speaking, again. The location is what I love about it, though. The neighborhood is lovely, and if I don't want to, I don't have to use public transport to get to the city center, and given the fact that the trolleybuses are usually as crammed as tuna cans, that's awesome. Anyway, now that I'm settled, I expect to finally work on my New Year's resolution considering this li'l blog of mine, so stay tuned! And of course, here are some of the links from around the www. By the way, I apologize for posting this two days after I should have, but it was either today or next week, so I figured go for it. Have a great Sunday!

Instead of Weekend Reads #47

Friday, April 1, 2016

Hello guys n gals, just wanted to check in real quick in case someone visits looking for Weekend Reads. I am in the midst of the apartment hunt and it's going waaaay slower than I had thought. People are crazy, apartments are shit, I'm giving up my criteria one by one because, well, beggars can't be choosers. Still, it's nonsense what kind of flats are being rented. Basic living conditions, anyone?!

Weekend Reads #46

Friday, March 18, 2016

Hello lovely people, another Friday is here! What are your plans for the weekend? I think I should look into plane tickets. Firstly, well, I'm about to move countries in less than two weeks and I still don't have the ticket. Oops. (Nor a place to stay! Anyone knows anyone renting a small flat in Belgrade? Haha. I don't think I should be this carefree.) And then, well, I got the visa so I'm definitely going to the States this August. (Woohoo!) I remember mentioning I got invited to a wedding in India as well, so even though such trip would not be in my agenda because of the money issues, a wedding of a friend is something I don't want to miss. My gym game is still going strong, you could read about it in my last post, and yesterday I went out and had the first run of the year. Three kilometers, not bad! Aaaanyway, here are the links from this week, since I know that's why you came here today. ;)

I Stepped Out Of My Comfort Zone And I Liked It

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

I've loathed PE classes my whole life. When I learned, sometime around age 13, that there isn't such thing at the university, that was a thing in life I looked forward to. A lot. (Un)fortunately, I wasn't one of those kids whose parents made sure they got exempted from PE classes by asking a physician to make something up about their (in)abilities. In fact, I even worked out during my period, because I'm a lucky bastard that doesn't feel any physical pain—only wants to eat everything. (And my everything is probably everythingier than your everything.)

Weekend Reads #45

Sunday, March 6, 2016

Oh, hello, you! I know I ~usually post these posts on Fridays, but I think this was the first time I had a lack of links I wanted to share. Not something that happens frequently to this internet junkie here! Anyway, I hope you have a really lovely Sunday.

Berlin Boatride or How To Enjoy Your Town Cruise

Thursday, March 3, 2016

Oh wow, it's been quite a while since this boatride happened. Google Chrome keeps reminding me of it every day, as I installed a plugin to make me more productive... though the reality is it's only making me more miserable. Give it a go if you'd like. Anyway, the day before my 27th birthday my friend who visited his BF in Berlin was struck by the fact that I had no plans for my birthday whatsoever, so the two of them arranged a boatride and invited me to join them. As this was actually one of the things to do before I (eventually) leave Berlin, I was delighted! My birthday is in late September, so we enjoyed the fall colors and just seeing the city from the water. We also had wine and a birthday cupcake. It was a day well spent.

Why I want to attend Spark.me?

Sunday, February 28, 2016

Natalie Portman is not just an actress, she also holds a major in psychology. Talk about dedication—she has earned her degree while acting in major Hollywood movies! She once said that she hated studying, but loved learning. Learning is beautiful, she said. I have to agree with her.

I was on the nerdy side of the spectrum in school and college. Of course, there were subjects I loved and those I despised; but I never took the liberty of not studying. I studied everything because I had to, and because it felt good to be a straight A student. But I guess I was always looking forward to the time where I would stop studying, even back when I still wanted to pursue a PhD path.

Weekend Reads #44

Saturday, February 27, 2016

How is everyone? Here's a weekly update. I only have one gym training left until I move onto the S02, as my coach likes to call it. I'm sore and loving it. (Don't tell her that.) Gym guys are cute. Like, seriously cute. I have a visa appointment at the American embassy in two weeks or so. In case you missed it, I'm hoping to get to NYC this summer to participate at the Merit360 program. I feel as poor as ever, but that didn't stop me from buying some Lindt chocolates. I think I had a blackout or something. I started looking into one way tickets to Belgrade. Scary! And flats for rent. They're hideous. (Anyone knows anyone renting a small apartment in Belgrade?? Lemme know!)

Here's my weekly dose of fun links from around the web, hope you like it.

Weekend Reads #43

Friday, February 19, 2016

Hello people, a week seems to pass by quite quickly... not really happy about it, haha. (Is anyone ever?? Unless, of course, while anticipating something awesome - definitely not the case here.) How is everyone? As you might have read, I started fundraising for my participation at Merit360 program this summer in the States. It's a great program I really believe in and cannot wait to get there! That is, if I get the visa (gahhh, I hate that I'm not the ideal candidate for a US visa! I just want to visit, you guys! I won't be staying and I don't want to live/work there... anybody from the Embassy reading this? Haha). Anyway, I'd love it if you checked out my fundraising page here. Thanks!

And as usual, here are some cool links from around the web...

A Journey of a Thousand Miles

Saturday, February 13, 2016

Hi friends!

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. I am taking the first step exactly as I am typing out this post.

Or rather I had already taken the first step some months ago, but there's still a long road ahead. OK, I'll stop being all mysterious and tell you what I'm talking about.

Weekend Reads #42

Friday, February 12, 2016

Hi lovely people, and happy Friday to you! How has your week been? Mine was slow and nice, with a great message in my Facebook inbox that kind of shook it a little: I think I'm going to India later this year! My friend Varsha is getting married (!!!) so she invited us (=people from my master's) to the wedding in August. I am super excited about it! And actually, the day before I watched this video and thought how wonderful it was and made a vague plan to go to India next year in March, to celebrate Holi. The universe sometimes listens - it's not Holi, but hey, an Indian wedding - and what's better, a wedding of a friend!

Also, I'll be publishing another post today that I would like you to check out, so if you have time, stop by later today. Thanks in advance!

And as always, here are the links for the weekend.

Weekend Reads #41

Saturday, February 6, 2016

Hi people, and welcome to another round of Weekend Reads! I hope you had a lovely week. I started getting up at 7 every day. OK, not weekends. It's been awesome, I hadn't been doing it since high school, but I still haven't reached that point where I actually get up and, well, get LOADS of stuff done like I could. But baby steps, baby steps! Where do you get your motivation for, um, life, anyway? I'm finding it really hard to concentrate. A friend sent me this Chrome plugin and it's rather scary, but it's still not moving me as much as it should. Any ideas would be highly appreciated! Have a great weekend.

Weekend Reads #40

Friday, January 29, 2016

OK, I get it, I promised something last week and then just succumbed to my laziness. I hope things will change soon or I'm doomed. I've written so many articles lately on how to be productive in January but cannot seem to listen to my own advice, which sucks because, well, why would anyone else then?! But for starters, I made a bet with a friend to get up at 7 every day in February. He says it's highly unlikely, I think his opinion is crazy and I'm sure I'll win the bet, so let's see. Whoever loses has to do a thing the other tells him (or her!) to do, and I honestly have no idea what he's capable of, so I better win! I'm sure it would be something extremely embarrassing so I better not find out. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :) And here's your serving of this weekend's links from around the web.

Weekend Reads #39

Friday, January 22, 2016

Hi there! I've been covering the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin A/W 2016 for the past few days for Plezir Magazine, and wanted to deliver posts here too on a daily basis, but just couldn't - I was too tired every day! Plus I started watching Game of Thrones haha after all my friend had been telling me for years how awesome the show is, and now I totally see it. I love it!! (Have you been following it? If not, start now, I wish I'd started earlier!) Anyway, I must admit I have no idea how big bloggers manage to 1. get up early every day, 2. pick their outfits and do their makeup, 3. attend millions of shows and events, 4. go out partying, 5. come back home and publish a post. I have no idea and I admire them for that! I'll just succumb to my laziness and great appreciation of sleeping.

What You Can Expect Here in 2k16 and Beyond

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Apart from my regular (okay... semi-regular) Weekend Reads, in more than two years of running Wandering Polka Dot I think I have never actually written a "catching-up" post. You know, the one where people just sit down and write whatever comes to their mind, intertwined with what and how they've been doing recently. I think you need to acquire a certain following of people that are genuinely interested in the blogger... and I never felt I could do that. Though I do a mini happy dance every time I get a comment and love you for that!!

Top 10 Things You Need to Figure Out When Moving

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

In case your plans for this year involve moving to another city or even country, congrats! I've moved cities and/or countries six times in the past three years (actually, it's even less than three years!) and it's so stressful, but on the other hand so rewarding because - yay, new adventures! But before you get all out and about making the time of your life (no, that's not really how it goes in reality, but sounds nice!), you should sort loads of things out. My friend Ivan, who moved to Denmark from Serbia last year, published this post on his blog and I loved it so much that I asked it if I could feature it on my own blog. Obviously, I can :) - thank you Ivan! I'm much more about the whole 'new life' craze so I'd never think of writing this, but it's a great guide and good to have in mind. Here's what Ivan suggests you put on your to-do list as soon as you arrive to your new home.

2016 - Another Round of New Year's Resolutions

Friday, January 1, 2016

Hello guys, and Happy New Year to you!!! I hope you had a good time wherever you were and whatever you were doing. I also hope you had a reasonable amount of alcohol and that the 1st of January is treating you right. ;) I hope you're evaluating your 2015. and drawing good conclusions from it, knowing how to make 2016. better in every regard. What are your plans and wishes for the year? Will you just go with the flow or are you more on the freaky side like me, with tons of plans? You might remember that I shared my goals for 2015 with you a year ago, and I was also tracking my progress every three months here on the blog. (Yep, I still owe an overall post on how I did in 2015!) I plan to do something similar again, because even though I didn't manage to have a perfect score, keeping my goals and plans public has helped me work on them.

So what do I want from 2016?
