Spreepark Berlin—A Tale of an Entertainment Park

I still miss it. I'm refraining from going through old photos and blog posts because why put salt on the wound? And this one, this wound, guys, is real. What I keep doing, though, is checking prices to Berlin from airports close by... well, yes, 6 hours is close by... sort of. Springs in Berlin are no less than magical and I want to say goodbye before I move overseas—at least a temporary goodbye, because that's one of those love stories that never ends, y'know? Especially because, as a friend put it: "you might find it expensive now but once you start making money at the end of the world it'll seem crazy cheap and you'll regret not having gone". True! So here I am, making plans and lists of things I want to see again and visit again and eat again. (Currywurst and doner kebab, I'm looking at you!) 

Weekend Reads #77

Hi there! The delay in the #WeekendReads is caused by the delay of my yesterday' post (worth checking out if you're going to Italy anytime soon). I'm also working on some new content from my travels from last year and even before (gulp!), so that'll be coming your way soon! If You're Going To Siena, Italy

I have mixed feelings about Siena. It’s a city in Tuscany, Italy, and the whole Tuscany is beautiful, therefore the conclusion would be Siena is, too. While we’re at it, Italy is beautiful. A fellow blogger from Serbia commented on my Instagram back then that it was her favorite town it Italy, but I just didn't feel it. Would I recommend it? Definitely—but bear in mind that this has more to do with the fact that I advocate going wherever one hasn’t been yet (and that’s what I do, anyway). So, here's what you should know if considering visiting Siena.

Siena is a medieval city that used to be a wealthy city-state during the Middle Ages, and its historic centre has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. It’s famous for its arts, medieval cityscape and the Palio, a horse race held twice a year around the central piazza, Il Campo. Have you ever been to Siena? I'd love to hear, especially if you loved it! What did I do wrong? 😉

Hello there, what are your plans for the weekend? My sister is about to arrive home in an hour and then we'll dive deep into baking and egg coloring, guided by Mom's instructions, that is, until she decided we're way too grown up for needing advice and guidance. Stuff No One Told Me

These are old news if you live on the Internet. However, no matter how old, they're still SO good and I think they deserve a share and a mention on this blog. Alex Noriega is an artist who, in his own words, started the blog Stuff No One Told Me "as a way of trying to find what I was doing wrong. I wanted to put on paper all that I had learned in life as simple as possible and try to see if what was happening around me made sense. It didn't". I mean, an artist with a sense of humor and everyday struggles we all face? I'm in! His characters are flawed and worry about the exact same things we do, they make mistakes and feel bad about it and overthink it and that's why it's easy to fall in love with them. Weekend Reads #75

Hi! You might have noticed the absence of Weekend Reads... or not. Both is fine. At some point, almost two months ago, I got one minor and one major translation gig that didn't allow browsing the Internet, let alone writing a Weekend Reads post. Apparently, as I noted on Twitter (only worth checking out if you understand Serbian), why hasn’t anybody ever told us it’s impossible to work, keep your home neat and clean, cook healthy lunches every day and have social life?! I know there are people in the blogosphere who brag about doing everything by thorough organization, but I think they’re just full of bullshit. It’s just impossible. I’m sorry, you’re lying, and do you even have a job? I don’t and I’m really struggling.

Sorry for the mini-rant. After the gigs were done, I got into a sort of imaginary cocoon that meant no work on the blog at all. I know it happens to me here and there and all the bloggers would tell you consistence is key, and I do agree, but honestly, I enjoyed the time off the blog. If nothing else, now I have both ideas for new posts and the will to write them, so hopefully the big break was a good thing to do! Anyway, here are your weekend reads for this week. 😊

Three Months Later—Where I Am With My New Year's Resolutions (ed. 2017)

I feel like I always start these posts with OMG it’s already ____ (fill in with the name of the month) I cannot believe the time is going by so quickly blah blah blah. On one hand, yeah, it’s hard to believe it’s actually April (and I’m still in my home country, as my plan was to move some time ago and it still isn’t happening), but on the other hand, it means three months have passed since NYE and, yeah, this time it feels like three months. Maybe because I’m unemployed a freelancer? I feel like days are passing by faster when they’re filled, and now I’m kind of responsible for filling them, and it’s not really going the way I had wanted.

Anyway… it’s time for my quarterly check-in to see how I’ve managed to stay on track with my yearly resolutions, and if I have in the first place. With some of those I’m super happy, with others… not so much. But there’s still room for change, and time, obviously, since I’ve got almost ¾ of the year left!
