Weekend Reads #69

I wrote an introduction to this post yesterday, stating This time I'm actually NOT posting from the train, even though I'm leaving my apartment in mere minutes to catch one. False. I am typing this out on a train. Trying out discipline and finishing the post on a Thursday. This is true though—but I obviously need to try more, and, like, wake up on time. I have so much to do by the end of the year—you might remember this list—and of course I do, you probably do too. I constantly keep on pushing myself and making myself do more and more, and it's been years of trying to get to the point where I've done it all. It's just that along the way I keep adding more and more tasks. By the way, I'm in no way trying to brag about this—I actually hate that it's so. And on top of everything, I lack self-discipline. Do you think it's a personality trait or not? I wish I could train myself, but just end up thinking oh no it's just the way I am. I'd love to hear your thoughts! This is all true. Woe is me!
Anyway, here are some interesting links for this week.
Oh, and have a very merry Christmas if you're celebrating! I wish you a blessed holiday with your family and friends.

A perfect one for myself: Do less. (And many of you, I'm sure.)

"My philosophy for a happy life": a touching video by a terminally ill teenager.

Some fun and weird illustrations.

A girl who hates how her feet feel in heels, but loves how her legs look in them, is kind of in love with these. P.S. The girl is me. P.P.S. Is Santa Claus even reading my blog? P.P.P.S. He should be.

Here's the key to become an expert in your field. (Seriously.)

There's nothing funny about periods—except when illustrators decide to deal with it.

This carry-on suitcase seems a bit pricey, BUT would you look at it? I love it. Sturdy, lightweight, and it can even charge your devices. (This is not a paid advert obviously but guys at Away Travel could think about investing in marketing by gifting me one of these for a review, huh?)

How to avoid work. Not the usual NLP "do what you love" bullshit, but it has some good points.

How do you know your partner is the one?

Self-control is just empathy with your future self. (The one who looks like a million dollars, but look, a muffin.)

Love you all! Enjoy the first weekend of winter!
